It is time to put the regular season behind us and clear our minds for the playoffs this weekend... I can't think of a better way to help "clear" the mind than an exhilarating game of sloshball (and its associated memory erasing powers).

Blackouts, way to close out the regular season undefeated! It is the first time in 10 seasons that we have pulled it off and it is pretty sweet if you ask me....

However, we are far from done.. Playoffs next weekend are going to be a true test. So get some rest, party some balls, and otherwise do what you have to do to get ready for next weekend!

Apparently the first go around between the Blackouts and KIAB didn't sit well with some of the KIABers... So, i suppose that it is time to start the shit talking machine up again....

The latest volley from their court is accusing us of somehow cheating in our game against them. I am curious as to how we had time to cheat in between allowing them one baserunner on the night and putting up 5 runs to their goose egg. I am sure however we cheated made the difference.

Team, great game last night. One baserunner allowed all game. I don't think that they even got through their order... KIAB, you guys had some great defense as well, but in the end it was the Blackout steamroller offense that decided the game. Can't wait for the rematch in the playoffs!

It is time to celebrate everyone's favorite Rolling Blackouts' All Star... That's right, i am talking about Jessi... why would you think that i was talking about joe or ben, that is just weird...
Anyways, where was i... oh yeah, Jessi's birthday party is this friday, october 19th at her place on california street. It is white trash themed so most of you should fit right in with your normal attire!!! Seriously though, dress up or prepare to be turned away at the door. No one likes 'that guy'. Starts at 7PM, so be there at like 4PM to help preparty... and by preparty, i mean make it extremely awkward for everyone involved.

Best Outfielder: Ken... the only one to not drop a ball... however, he was also the only one to not have a ball kicked to him so you be the judge...

Worst Outfielder: I thought about this one and i still can't make up my mind. On the one hand, i think that Terry's ball dropping cost us more runs and dealt the bigger emotional blow, Naveen's play was just as atrocious! I mean, nav, they told you that they were going to kick it to you. The balls were literally kicked right to you... you knew they were coming, and you still couldn't bring them in...

Best Catch: Tie between Chalk and Jessi. Both had huge stops in the infield which help to stop the bleeding. It is nice to see that we had a couple pair of hand capable of holding onto the ball...

MVP: Jennie Martucci. When it was the bottom of the 4th and most had completely given up, she was the one that went up there and started the rally... i wouldn't exactly call it a comeback, but it was nice to see that someone still had some heart out there...

Honorable mention: Ken... he did score our only run of the game... way to go zilla.--------Alright now that we got that out of the way, how about something positive?and the bar awards go to?

Flip Cup MVP: Sean Tabor. We went head to head against the Recess Warriors 4 times... and all 4 times, sean was 'one and done' well played sir...

Most Clutch: Spencer... pretty sure that the guy had to work at midnight, but when we had a game against the RW's on the line in a one on one match, spence slammed that beer with authority and flipped it perfectly to keep our streak alive.

Best Flip Cup team:

ROLLING BLACKOUTS! we fu*king dominated the RW's 4 games in a row. NERDS!!!! we would have kept it up, but they walked away after having their asses handed to them four consecutive times.

Most Agro Flip Cuppers: Lynne and Ken... i think that i saw them do at least 4 rounds of full cup flip cup...

Biggest Hungry eyes: Spencer and Kristen... FOR EACH OTHER... who makes out in the middle of the bar? apparently the rolling blackouts...

Week 6 Awards...

Good job out there yesterday... totally came back and dominated the 'humps'... some awards...

MVP: Joe "homerun" Donnelly... man, your parents really called that one when they named you. Well played buddy. Nothing like a little homerun to put the other team on the defensive.... even if you did fall over in left field trying to get a ball that was hit right to you....

Honorable Mention: Jennie Martucci... A couple of key catches that really shut the black team down. We won't talk about your 'buckneresque' moment where the ball when through your legs (there has to be a good joke in there somewhere)....

2nd mention: Kelly Greenly... key catch in the outfield.... nice play, kelly..

Sweetest moves: Danny Brehm? What sealed it for me is when that chick had a little chip shot and danny comes out of nowhere to catch it... the other team is complaining that he was in front of the batter.... but not so much.... the best was when castillo said, "man, danny would be dangerous if he was wearing cleats". good job dan-o....

Most consistent: Jessi... As usual, she scores the first run... it is pretty much clockwork.. keep up the good work.

Best no show: Paul. Seriously, man... show up to work and get your sh*t done so that you can get to the field, or even the bar.... you are killing me... plus how is that 'stache supposed to get any if you don't take it out sometime?

Dirtiest Bunter: Vance... i have never seen anyone who only kicks the ball about 2 feet in front of the plate that can consistently outrun the throw from the catcher... nice!

Worst Flip Cup player: Rob... i am sorry guys... thankfully the rest of the team carried me so that we still won more than we lost, but i was a liability last night.. i am going to go ahead and blame it on the fact that is was a balmy 1.2 million degrees down in the pit... Next time i will just stick to coaching....

Most likely to bring 'em young: Julie Martucci... she didn't even take down the 23 year old she was hanging with last night... my theory is that she is keeping her game tight by keeping up on the latest in power rangers, TMMT, etc.. she is going to need it this weekend when she 'meets the parents' of the 17 year old (he might be 18, not sure)... nice...

Best 1-4-24 player: Rob... i somehow won like $35 last night... i didn't think that it was possible, but whatever... i should have just gone to tahoe (ken, were you 'up in tahoe' last night?)

Worst shuffleboard players: Joe and his girl, katie... They got stomped by Jessi and I (who then got stomped by julie and her young friend)...

Alright guys, our game this week is huge. We are playing the black team who are also undefeated and are in second place right behind us. The reason I am writing this post so early in the morning is because I just woke up from a dream I had about this game. In my dream we barely got there in time and then got our asses handed to us because Mike Nuckles kept dropping fly balls in the outfield. I think the final score was 5-1. This cannot happen. If Nuckles shows up to the game I am psychic and we are screwed. Otherwise I think we should be fine. This team is good so we have to bring it on, and by bring it on I mean stomp the yard, and by stomp the yard I mean I want us to be the ones saying You got served when all is said and done. Please read Rob's directions below and make sure to get there well before 6, we can't have a forfeit for a game this big.

I'm calling balderdash on the Scavenger Hunt. That was total horse-shit. I risked my life for two hours sitting shotgun with a blacked out Naveen who had slept for ten minutes the night before, only to get ripped off at the winners podium. Not only should we have won the gold (yes, we did hit Yerba Buena Gardens) but to not even get a bronze medal was a slap in the face. Real classy event guys. And next time you should think about inviting your roommate, I'm sure Ken feels great about himself now. Weak sauce!

So yesterday in the 1st annul go-car photo scavenger hunt, two blackouts, jessi and ben, took home the gold medals. It was a tough battle which also saw to more blackouts on the winner's podium (danny and nav), but ultimately it was the drive and determination of two of last years all stars. Pretty sure that the F'ing sweet jackets helped tremendously as well.

Well, we did it again. I know that it isn't that big of a surprise, but we did have a little worry in the first inning. Luckily, DC worked the kinks out and ended up pitching tremendously for the last three innings. Ty Vance had one of the scariest dives i have seen yet at kickball, but somehow managed to break his fall into the concrete with his head, and was no worse for the wear. Terry had about +/- infinity catches in right field, but his sliding prowess was really the highlight of the day. First off, let me say that I couldn’t be happier with this team and the great start that we have been off to. As I sit here at work and am counting down the minutes until this Wednesday’s game, it struck me - we have no mascot! Well that is all about to change. After careful deliberation, I think that that there is no better mascot than a Drunken Pink Elephant. We have all seen them and I think we need to embrace them by plastering this image on anything we can – shirts, flags, team tattoos, etc.

It was great to see so many Rolling Blackouts at Zoe's birthday pub crawl, however like a self-fulfilling prophecy I completely blacked out and now would like to know who smeared chocolate all over me. Now that we have gone over the pregame regimen.... I think that we should go over out at bar performance. Obviously, when it comes to beer pong/beruit we have no equal, and recently we have been embarassing absolutely everyone on the flip cup table as well. We need to keep that up and not get lazy. Also we need to watch out for the spillage.... Look at paul. He looks so confident, which in confusing cause it looks like he either just ran a marathon (paul doesn't look like the marathon type), or he just dumped about a beer and a half on himself for some unknown reason. Folks, it is one thing for another team to get lucky and sneak an occasional win against us. However, it is hard to claim victory when one of your teammates is absolutely douched in beer. Paul, sorry to call you out, but this is the most extreme example that i could find. We are better than that. Also, you might want to get your devil eyes checked out.

Defensive MVP- DC. Does pitching count as defense? Either way, nice pitching! Not sure i've ever seen anyone strike out at kickball. Awesome! Again, i believe the darkness helped.

Most Team Spirit- Laura. Broken ankle and all, she still manages to come support us AND continues on to the bar to remain the "one and done".

Biggest surprise of the century.....

Naveen getting the intentional walk.... They thought they were playing it cool since we had a girl up next... little did they know that it was our lead off girl jesse.... Those nerds couldn't do a scouting report if their lives depended on it....

I have to second DC on the defense.... While i have seen a few strike outs in my day (Joey "the head" evans comes to mind).. i have NEVER seen back to back strike outs! Also, he struck out the best player on the other team the inning before...
